Flying Dutchman
As a brand our goal is to bridge the gap between the convenience of a production frame and the individualization and quality offered from a custom-built bicycle. Historically, the need for a custom bicycle has often been incentivized by the need for non-standard geometries or features that aren’t typically offered by off-the-shelf bikes that are typically designed with utilitarianism in mind, with a required checklist of features that was drafted in a boardroom many years ago by people who will never ride the product they are selling.
If craftmanship has any future a custom piece should be impressive for more than the fact that you are the only one who has one. A brand that seeks prestige should be a guarantee of underlying quality, a proof of the item being the best possible realization of the intended concepts. Wool is wool, cashmere is something different altogether. In relation to the frames we sell this guarantee is that what you receive is the closest representation of your vision we can by providing you with as many means to do so as possible.
